Laurel & Hardy signed and framed photo

£950.00

Laurel & Hardy signed photo.

The brilliant comedy duo, are still highly collectible.

This item is unique, signed in 1931 (77 years ago).

This is a brilliant photo, rarely seen this size (approx 14" x 17"). It has a message clearly visible in between them 'Our sincere good wishes always Joe, 1931 and is signed by both stars to the left hand side. It also has a message on the back of the photo in Oliver Hardy's handwriting, this has not faded at all and as true collectors will know Mr Hardy rarely annotated items. The message on the back of the photo reads 'To J Wallace Black from Laurel and Hardy Aug 6th 1931'.

I can e mail a scan of the annotation to anyone interested in buying. The item was believed to have been dedicated to a local composer of this name who lived in North Shields. This was the year 'Pardon Us' was released.

It has been difficult to price this item, the photo itself is in excellent condition and were the signatures much easier to read (both signatures have faded but they are still readable.) I would have expected it to sell for £2500, but sadly it has been subject to sunlight and I have priced the item bearing this in mind. It is still an excellent collectable and most definitely one of a kind.

Whoever buys this, must display it away from sunlight it needs to be cared for.

Please note all rarer items on this site have a watermark over the scan, this is computer generated and is NOT on the original.
